Carbon Heroes provides a digital platform that helps organisations design environmental social value projects and generate procurement-ready bid responses. The platform also supports the real-world delivery of tree projects through local authority partnerships.
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Carbon Heroes website, digital platform, and related services.
By accessing or using any Carbon Heroes services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the Carbon Heroes services.
1. About Carbon Heroes
Carbon Heroes provides a digital platform and related services designed to help organisations design, calculate and deliver environmental social value projects, including tree planting and urban nature initiatives.
Carbon Heroes services may include:
- Environmental social value calculators
- AI-assisted bid writing tools
- Environmental impact modelling
- Environmental project planning
- Tree sponsorship and urban forestry initiatives
- Delivery of environmental projects with local authority partners
- Impact reporting and certification
These services are delivered through the Carbon Heroes website and digital platform (the "Platform").
2. Eligibility
By using the Platform, you confirm that:
- you are authorised to represent the organisation using the service
- you are at least 18 years old
- you will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws
Carbon Heroes may suspend or terminate access where eligibility requirements are not met.
3. Platform Access and Accounts
Some features of the Platform require the creation of a user account.
Users agree to:
- provide accurate registration information
- maintain the security of their login credentials
- notify Carbon Heroes of any unauthorised use of their account
You are responsible for all activities carried out under your account. Carbon Heroes reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. SaaS Platform Licence
Carbon Heroes grants users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Platform for internal business purposes.
Users may not:
- copy or reproduce the Platform software
- reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
- create derivative products based on the Platform
- resell or commercially exploit the Platform without permission
All intellectual property rights in the Platform remain the property of Carbon Heroes.
5. Environmental Social Value Methodology
The Carbon Heroes Platform uses environmental and social value benchmarks to estimate the environmental and community impact of urban nature projects.
These calculations may incorporate:
- carbon sequestration estimates for urban trees
- air pollution mitigation data
- biodiversity and ecosystem indicators
- volunteering and community engagement proxies
- recognised social value frameworks such as TOMs or the UK Social Value Model
These outputs are designed to support environmental social value planning and procurement responses. The estimates produced by the Platform are indicative calculations and should not be interpreted as guaranteed outcomes.
6. AI-Generated Content
The Platform may generate written content using artificial intelligence, including:
- environmental social value narratives
- draft bid responses
- project descriptions
These outputs are provided as draft content only. Users remain responsible for reviewing and adapting all generated content before using it in procurement submissions, marketing materials, or contractual documents. Carbon Heroes does not guarantee that AI-generated content will meet the requirements of any specific procurement authority.
7. Procurement and Tender Use
The Platform is designed to assist organisations preparing public-sector procurement submissions. However:
- Carbon Heroes does not guarantee procurement scoring outcomes
- use of the Platform does not guarantee contract award
- procurement authorities remain responsible for evaluating bids
Users are responsible for ensuring that their submissions comply with all procurement rules and requirements.
8. Environmental Project Delivery
Where organisations include Carbon Heroes environmental projects in a tender and subsequently win a contract, Carbon Heroes may offer services to facilitate delivery of those projects. This may include:
- coordination with local authorities
- tree planting programmes
- tree maintenance and stewardship
- community volunteering initiatives
- environmental impact monitoring
Delivery of such projects will be governed by separate agreements. Use of the Platform alone does not constitute a commitment to deliver projects.
9. Subscription and Fees
Some features of the Platform may require payment. Carbon Heroes may offer:
- subscription plans
- pilot programmes
- beta access
- free trials
Where subscriptions apply:
- fees are payable in advance
- subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled
- pricing may be updated with reasonable notice
Failure to pay fees may result in suspension of access.
10. Beta Services
Carbon Heroes may offer certain Platform features as beta services. Beta services may:
- change frequently
- contain bugs or errors
- be modified or discontinued without notice
Beta features are provided "as is" and without guarantees of performance or availability.
11. Acceptable Use
Users agree not to:
- submit false environmental claims
- misuse environmental social value data
- upload unlawful or harmful content
- attempt to disrupt the Platform infrastructure
- access the Platform through unauthorised means
Carbon Heroes may suspend access where misuse is detected.
12. Data and Privacy
Carbon Heroes processes user data in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
Users retain ownership of data submitted to the Platform. By using the Platform, users grant Carbon Heroes a limited licence to process such data for the purpose of providing the service.
13. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property relating to the Platform, including:
- software
- algorithms
- impact calculation models
- content and branding
remains the property of Carbon Heroes. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of intellectual property to users.
14. Service Availability
Carbon Heroes will use reasonable efforts to maintain Platform availability. However, the Platform may be temporarily unavailable due to:
- system maintenance
- upgrades
- technical issues
- events outside Carbon Heroes' control
Carbon Heroes does not guarantee uninterrupted access.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Carbon Heroes shall not be liable for:
- procurement outcomes
- loss of contracts
- loss of profits or business opportunities
- indirect or consequential damages
The Platform is provided as a tool to support environmental social value planning. Users remain responsible for their procurement submissions and contractual commitments.
16. Termination
Users may stop using the Platform at any time. Carbon Heroes may suspend or terminate access where:
- these Terms are breached
- misuse of the Platform occurs
- continued use poses legal or operational risk
Upon termination, access to the Platform will cease.
17. Changes to These Terms
Carbon Heroes may update these Terms periodically. Material updates will be communicated through the Platform or website. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
